I've met the founder of +AboutOne and love her and the idea of this product/service. I need all my important paperwork available to me via my cell phone – and not just for the humans in my family!

One of my pugs has to eat only prescription dog food (HUA??!!) and I can't purchase it without a copy of the prescription card the vet gave us. I've taken pics of it with my cell phone but I can't search or tag it, so I sit at the checkout scrolling through 3,000 pictures to find it. (I usually don't.) Same goes with immunization records to send the preschool or summer camp. Or now keeping track of all my medical related 'things' after my arm surgery. I for one am signing up for AboutOne and seeing how I can (OMG FINALLY) keep all my stuff straight! Having it all 'in paper' at home is fine and well, but doesn't help me at all when I'm out of the house.

Again with the Klout scores

Holy cow I need coffee or a drink. Or maybe I should reinstate my Klout account? I can sort of see the deal with customer service and high ranking Klout customers. Sort of. Every customer should be treated well and equally. I'm sure +Peter Shankman would agree. He's called people on the phone (and surprised the hell out of them) just to answer someone's question promptly. Peter "Morton Steakhouse" Shankman!

As far as not getting hired because of your Klout score – that's BS too. Unless of course you are in 'this' field, you better damn well know what Klout is. Doesn't matter what your score is though in my opinion. I've had clients as me about my Klout score, only to have the poor people sit through a thinly veiled rant about how real influence can't be measured by the number of Tweets per hour.

From the article:
Klout is starting to infiltrate more and more of our everyday transactions. In February, the enterprise-software giant Salesforce.com introduced a service that lets companies monitor the Klout scores of customers who tweet compliments and complaints; those with the highest scores will presumably get swifter, friendlier attention from customer service reps. In March, luxury shopping site Gilt Groupe began offering discounts proportional to a customer’s Klout score.

Do Brands Only Want To Date?

This is a brilliant article by +C.C. Chapman – and to me totally hits the nail on the head. "Online personalities" as C.C. put it, sometimes want to develop a longer term relationship with the companies they work with – not a 'kiss & run' (my thought not his).

Whatever you call the social media / online movers and shakers – influencers, celebraties, rockstars – we generally want to get involved because we have a positive association with the brand/company to start with. Leaving us high and dry after the engagement/campaign is over is standing us up.

I'm glad C.C. wrote this. He put into words something that I couldn't quite articulate about why I am hesitant to get involved with some brands professionally. It's not that I don't like them – it's that I see the trail of 'broken dates' behind them and don't want to become the same.

When will brands realize that forming a long term relationship with bloggers is better than a bunch of one night stands?
