That's an excellent use of his funds. Many will benefit.
It's his money and he's welcome to spend it on whatever he pleases. That's just my overall view on wealth. I don't think it's my place to tell anyone how or where to invest or spend the money they've earned from their individual efforts, but it is nice to see when they do decide to do something benevolent with it.

+Sergey Brin should fund Anschutz Medical Campus Brian M. Freed, PhD found a drug that stops the progression of Parkinsons involving the DJ-1 protein, but can't get funding for human trials from NIH, even though the drug is FDA approved called Phenylbutyrate. Money is the only thing holding it back from helping the 4-5 million people living with Parkinsons!

Huge cred should go to Bill Gates as well, he and Melinda are investing millions of dollars into researching a number of diseases.
Bill Gates has enough credit, that should go to the scientists and researchers.
I congratulate great minds like Sergey for being so committed for such a great cause. Another class act.
Cures should not be politicized . More resources should be dedicated for unlocking DNA and the human genome.
