Asked this on Twitter and some of the answers are fascinating.

I hear often sentences that start with "the problem with consultants is…."

Complete that statement. I'm not looking so much for the obvious snark (and not specific criticisms of social media consultants) as I am honest, specific issues that have turned "consultant" into a dirty word. What are the bad eggs doing that make the good eggs work that much harder to prove their value?

(Disclaimer: I am a consultant now, have been one before, and have also hired and been absolutely delighted with the value provided by many consultants I've worked with. So I believe without question that the good ones can make a big difference.)
